ORANGE UK APPOINTS INTERIM HEAD OF SPONSORSHIP AND BRAND PARTNERSHIPS

London, 8 September 2008: Orange UK today announces former Head of Media, Ian Smith, as interim Head of Sponsorship and Brand Partnerships. Ian will be covering maternity leave for current Head of Sponsorship and Brand Partnerships, Hattie Magee.

Responsibilities will include leading both the sponsorship strategy in 2009 and running existing partnerships, including the Orange British Academy Film Awards, Glastonbury Festival, Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction, Orange RockCorps and Orange unsignedAct with Sony Ericsson.

Ian will report directly into Justin Billingsley, Orange UK's brand director, responsible for the newly designed marketing team which incorporates retail, home, business services and brand departments.

Justin Billingsley said “Ian is an integral part of the brand team and we are delighted he has agreed to cover Hattie's maternity leave. He has a wealth of experience having headed up media at Orange for three years, working closely with the partnerships team, and from previous roles he has held outside the business making him the perfect candidate to lead our sponsorship strategy through 2009.”
