ORANGE LAUNCHES NEW FILM SITE

London — 28 January 2009: Orange today announced the launch of its new film website designed to provide a rich, fun and interactive experience for all film fans across the UK. The successful Orange Wednesdays proposition is at the heart of the site, by not only helping all our customers to organise their two-for-one cinema offer but by providing film lovers with accessible content in an entertaining and easy-to-use format.

Expected to double the number of users to the site and to attract in excess of 300,000 unique users a month, the Orange film site represents a significant opportunity for advertisers associated with film. It will offer news stories, features, celebrity interviews and picture galleries, while also showcasing features which include:

  • Film finder provides a comprehensive guide of what's on and covers approximately 600 cinemas including every major venue in the UK. Users can search for a movie or search for what films are being shown by entering a town name or postcode. Once users find what they would like to watch they can invite a friend or text the details to their Orange mobile.
  • Innovative video makes choosing a film fun and easy playing trailers for every major film showing in the UK. Users can enjoy special video clips including cast interviews, footage of premieres, behind-the-scenes videos and clips from the movies themselves. Orange is also helping users to find their perfect film, creating special video packages for different tastes, for example comedies, action and adventure.
  • Interactive reviews allow users to share their comments in an open forum, building on Orange's vision “Together we can do more”. Orange will publish all key film details, including a synopsis, picture gallery and summary of the critics' opinions, but the ultimate focus will be on what the real viewers think.

Orange Wednesdays will continue to be a main attraction for Orange customers who can visit the site for the two-for-one offer on cinema tickets. Customers will find all the details they need to know, from the nearest participating cinema, how to order a ticket, and the chance to share their views with everyone once they have watched the film.

Paul Jevons, Director of Product Portals and Services, Orange UK says: “The new site builds on Orange's long-standing association with film, whether that be Orange Wednesday, BAFTA or our cinema advertising, and will provide users with a really rich film experience, especially if they are an Orange customer. This is also the first step in a number of significant changes to the UK portal users can expect this year.”

The new site will also offer a great variety of opportunities for advertisers and partners who wish to align themselves with film and entertainment. FindAnyFilm.com'*, the UK Film Council backed web site, will be the exclusive advertiser on the site between 29th January to 28th February 2009.
